It wasn’t too long ago that a young dog made news for driving a car, but it came out that the whole thing was a stunt that was orchestrated. Now, a new puppy is getting all the attention, but you can trust that she’s the real deal. Let me introduce you to Lexie, the Jack Russell Terrier who is a licensed driver.
The 21-year-old Cam Zschech is Lexie’s owner, and the two of them make their home in Hamilton in southwest Victoria.

According to ABC News, Cam’s family owns a huge farm, and he spends the weekends there helping out by doing chores. Lexie is frequently found working alongside him during these times.
Moving the sheep down the path is one of his responsibilities, and Lexie enjoys tagging along when dad does it. One time, they were just “idling along,” and Cam found himself reflecting on his early days behind the wheel. He reportedly thought to himself, “we’ve got a bit of time, why can’t I teach Lexie to drive?” This is according to ABC News.

He made the decision to “mix things up” by allowing Lexie to drive, and it turned out that she was a natural behind the wheel! Now that the engine is started, Cam may shift the car into first gear and hand the steering wheel over to Lexie. Due to her height, controlling the wheel can be difficult for her, but she does a respectable job of guiding the sheep in the right direction.
