It had only been a few short days since Grayce the dog became a mother to her puppies. When she started picking up her puppies – all 11 of them, 10 boys and a girl – and placing them gently, one by one into her foster mom’s lap, she may have been feeling a bit overwhelmed at the time. However, she did it nonetheless. According to Stevoni Wells Doyle’s comments to The Dodo, “I think she feels insecure still as a new mom.” “And she required to love and reassurance from somebody that she adores and can rely on,” the sentence continues.

Since approximately three weeks ago, Grayce has made Doyle’s house in Utah her permanent residence. Because she had been mistreated in her prior home, she “needed a secure setting in which to have her puppies,” according to Doyle. Doyle has provided temporary housing for several hundred canine companions, including Grayce and her litter of puppies. She is an animal rescuer “because they cannot exist without us. We are their voice, and it is our responsibility to safeguard them.”

But to our knowledge, this is the first time that a dog mother has ever handed her her puppies in this fashion. Doyle says, “It was an honor for me that she put her trust in me to care for both her and her puppies.” “I’m still blown away by the affection she has for me.” The puppies and Grayce will be available for adoption through the rescue organization Rescue Rovers in around eight weeks, but only to families in the state of Utah.
Fostering is an important way to preserve lives, so please inquire at your community animal shelter or with your preferred rescue organization about the possibility of fostering a Grayce.
