Leo, a large, fluffy dog, certainly loves his family dearly, but he also has a brown plush animal that he carries about everywhere. Leo’s owner, Hayley Alaxanian, told The Dodo that it was Leo’s favorite toy. But recently, a minor incident put the good thing Leo and his toy have going on the line.

Leo was playing with the stuffed animal the other day as he usually did when disaster struck. The energetic dog somehow managed to unintentionally rip a hole in his little fabric pal, revealing its tender, white insides—a fatal wound for any stuffed animal. Fortunately, Alaxanian’s father arrived quickly after the shocking incident took place. The dog was devastated.

Alaxanian stated, “He was weeping and trying to grab for the toy, but my dad took it away and put it somewhere so he couldn’t reach it. “At that point, my dad decided to pull out his sewing supplies and begin piecing it back together.” Worried Leo never left his side while his favorite toy underwent emergency “surgery” to save its life.

The surgery was finished after many anxious seconds. Despite Dad’s expertise with such high-pressure techniques, Leo’s toy was going to survive. Alaxanian remarked, “I’ve never seen him stitch a dog toy together. Leo was ecstatically relieved. The dog and his plaything were then joyfully reunited.

Leo will hopefully become a little gentler with his stuffed friend in the future, but Alaxanian’s father will undoubtedly be there to help once more if any additional toy-related injuries do occur. After all, his bond with Leo is one of unadulterated affection. Alaxanian exclaimed, “It is the loveliest thing ever.
