There should be no relationship more bizarre than that between a lion and a dog. It’s uncommon for these magnificent animals to develop a relationship with an animal that would typically be considered prey because lions are among the world’s toughest predators. But there are some lions out there that defy all expectations, managing to form bonds with both people and other animals. At this point, it seems appropriate to introduce you to Miki the lion.
This particular lion and Camila the dog have been friends for their whole lives, and the staff at the sanctuary where they reside frequently manage to record films of their endearing interactions. Miki appears to be the consummate gentleman in their most recent video, taking Camila’s paw to kiss. He has no idea that Camila is simply not in the mood for love, and as he attempts to lift her paw once more, she turns and walks away. Then, in an absurd attempt to make amends with his canine pal, Miki dashes after Camila while hiding his tail between his legs. It is the funniest thing we have ever witnessed!
After the two buddies were discovered together, Miki the lion and Camila the chocolate lab were donated to the Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation in Mexico City. The couple “had truly been together throughout their lives, way before we saved them,” the charity claims. And they become anxious if they are apart. Although no one knows how they met for the first time, it is evident that their special connection is still going strong today.
Toy Quest 101 was the first to post the lovely video of Miki and Camila on YouTube, along with the caption: “Amazing ties between two buddies that date back to their youth. a chocolate lab and a powerful white lion. Watch as the lion approaches the puppy and kisses its paw. As part of Toyquest101’s “See to the Foundation,” a video was taken at the Black Jaguar White Tiger Foundation.
The video has received hundreds of thousands of likes and comments along with an incredible 73 million views since it was posted in 2018. In the little video, Camila can be seen walking up to Miki and giving her a sweet kiss on the paw. Miki tries to repeat his affectionate gesture, but Camila has obviously had enough and turns and walks away. We’re curious as to what transpired after Miki appears to feel regret for his actions right away and runs after his pal.
I don’t know about you, but this video kind of makes us think of a husband and wife fight, with the lion representing the guilty husband. And we weren’t the only ones who thought it was funny! Many individuals commented on the video on YouTube to voice their opinions, with one guy joking: Many others also assumed that the dog was still in danger, but fortunately, these two had been pals for a long time!
