Meet Blaze The Labrador Who’s Changing Color From Black To White

Posted on August 15, 2022 by TrueNews

For the past ten years, Blaze has resided in Finland with his family. Blaze has mostly experienced the same things throughout his life, including his monochrome appearance.  However, as the dog grew older, his parents saw that his muzzle was turning white, which they assumed was a normal aspect of aging.

Blaze didn’t appear to be slowed down in the least by his aging features. The exuberant black Lab still enjoyed swimming in the neighboring lakes, jumping in the snow, and running through the woods. But gradually, his parents also became aware of white patches of fur around his ears. They continued to spread. Blaze’s father, Santeri Frilander, told The Dodo, “At first, we assumed it was merely aging, but the white hue started to grow more and more month by month.” The other pups in the same litter have kept their original colors.

Blaze’s face eventually became almost entirely covered in white fur, which also covered his shoulders and legs. Frilander concluded that vitiligo was the cause of Blaze’s shifting coat, not aging. White patches of hair appear on a dog or cat’s coat when they have vitiligo, a condition where the skin loses some of its natural colors. Other health conditions may be related to the disease, although Blaze is in excellent health and is unaware of any differences.

The puppy’s new black and white patchwork coat gives him a distinctive appearance that his parents like. Frilander claimed, “Vitiligo is only a cosmetic issue. Blaze is a wonderful example of how beauty can be found in difference. Blaze enjoys being the center of attention, and thanks to his stunning coat, he has earned online followers both domestically and internationally. For Blaze, the happier the dog is, the more pets he gets.

Blaze is friendly and gets along with everyone, according to Frilander. He is constantly joyful and seeks out locations where activity is taking place. Even Blaze’s amazing transformation hasn’t changed Punto’s opinion of him. The two puppies still like playing together and hanging out together inside the house. They make a funny duo, according to Frilander. Punto is a boss and weighs only 3 pounds compared to Blaze’s 74 pounds.

Inside and out, Blaze is stunning, and his family wouldn’t change a thing about him.
