Learn about Max the husky and Quackers the duck, who both live on a country road in Strout, Minnesota. Max has been owned by Patrick and Kirsten Riley since he was five years old. This couple already had another husky named Sasha when Max arrives. Instantly, Max and Sasha developed a close connection. Sasha sadly passed away, leaving Max there by himself.

Because of Max’s suffering, his family decided to find him a new companion. To relieve Max’s suffering, they purchased a quacker, who instantly won Max’s affection. Owner Patrick Riley notes that because “he was without any pals,” “Max would sit next to his enclosure all the time, and the two gradually got close. The moment we let him go, they became inseparable.

Fortunately, Quackers showed up and filled the void that Max’s seclusion had left in his soul. These days, the two cannot be separated in any way. They can do everything together, including going for walks, eating, drinking, and sleeping, as Kirsten pointed out. “Everything is in harmony.” You’ll see them as a couple the most frequently on Highway 28.
