The behavior of animals might be perplexing at times. That was the reaction of residents in one area when they learned what a cat had done to five puppies from next door. When the puppy’s owner returned home one day, she was astonished to learn that all five of her puppies had vanished. She searched the area for them but couldn’t find them.
A neighbor informed her that she had seen a cat passing by with one of the puppies in its mouth. Miss Kitty, the cat, resided in a trailer nearby. The puppies’ owner was concerned about what she had heard and feared the worse for her pets. She walked straight to the trailer to see if the puppies were still there. Yes, all of the puppies were present. They were, however, not in any danger. Instead, they were happily cuddling with the cat.
Miss Kitty had previously been pregnant, it turned out. She did, however, lately lose all of her kittens. If tragedy hadn’t intervened, she would have become a first-time mother. Smoochie, the puppies’ mother, on the other hand, appeared to be uninterested in her offspring. She didn’t take care of them. She simply let them go around in the yard.
Miss Kitty chose to take the puppies because she saw how her neighbor Smoochie was treating her fur babies and wanted to nurse them herself. Miss Kitty’s pregnancy caused her to produce milk and brought forth her mother instinct, even though she lost her kittens. She noticed that their dog mother was neglecting the puppies. She took them all to her house and fed and cared for them. Nobody knows why Smoochie didn’t seem to be interested in her puppies. Miss Kitty, thankfully, was present to act as a surrogate mother for the puppies.
When the owners of Smoochie and Miss Kitty discovered what was going on, they were both relieved that everything had worked out. Miss Kitty could enjoy her motherhood while Smoochie could enjoy his freedom. Above all, the puppies would be carefully taken care of.
