The most heartbreaking aspect of owning a pet is that we have no choice but to leave them alone at home whenever we have to go to work, no matter how difficult it may be. And the issue will become even more difficult if anything unexpected occurs during that period.
When their home in Orlando, Florida caught fire, Americo Ledezma and Nestor Gonzalez were both gone, but another member of their family remained – their beloved poodle Prada. The one-year-old girl in the kitchen was barking like crazy at the time, which was strange because she’d never done it before.
The boys tried to calm her worries by talking to her through their home’s Ring doorbell cam. But after 30 minutes, she began barking again, this time so loudly that they decided to switch on their camera. They quickly saw why Prada was trying so hard to get their attention this time: there was smoke everywhere. The two guys ran back to their home, only to discover that it had been set on fire. And the first question they had was whether or not Prada was safe.
Fortunately, the heroic firefighters from the Orange County Fire Rescue Department arrived in time and safely transported Prada outdoors. Her lovely white fur began to gray, but she was unhurt! Not to mention that the situation might have been much, much worse if Prada hadn’t asked for help, according to the firefighters.
The source of the fire is still unknown, but that doesn’t matter to Americo and Nestor as long as their cherished friend is safe.
