Bebé, Nick, Nia, and Tico are four canines who are cared for by a homeless man in Brazil. After the man was rushed to the hospital for treatment, the four pups waited patiently at the door of the facility. The news media were prompted to investigate the situation further after a picture of several obedient dogs working at the hospital went popular on social media.

According to reports from Brazilian news agencies, Cézar Goncalves, a homeless guy, came to the Alto Vale Regional Hospital in Rio do Sul, Brazil, around three in the morning on December 9, 2018. According to the digital website Notas de Mascotas, he went to undergo therapy and medication for health concerns to address it.

Later on, the dogs were allowed to come inside the hospital to meet Goncalves. Goncalves revealed that he feeds his dogs food that he prepares for himself so that they are never hungry. He has stated to the publication that if he does not have sufficient food, he will quit eating to provide for them. Many people who adore dogs pointed out that the fact that the four dogs were so concerned for their owner’s health demonstrates how well they are looked after and loved.

Goncalves, who earns money by recycling materials that he collects, did not spend more than an hour in the hospital after he was admitted. According to El Espectador, the hospital was the one who took the photo, and it was uploaded to Facebook, where it was soon shared by other users, causing it to rapidly spread. Goncalves took the first stray dog into his home five years ago, and shortly thereafter, the family added three more dogs to their pack. He gets up at four in the morning every day to collect recycling, and the four dogs are always there to accompany him.
He considers his pets to be members of his family. “I am nothing without the animals,” he stated at one point.
