Who among us watched The Lion King when they were younger? When Mufasa was killed by Scar by throwing him off the cliff, I know I wasn’t the only one who cried. Even more upsetting was the incident that occurred right after it, in which Simba attempted to awaken his father. Devastating to the core. Even now, many years later, when I’m an adult, I can still feel the tears welling up in my eyes. On the other hand, it seems that I’m in good company because a video has surfaced showing a cute dog named Teddy having a visibly emotional reaction to the death that occurs in the movie.

Dogs have a well-deserved reputation for being very empathic creatures. It is not surprising that they would even feel compassion for the roles that are played in a film. It’s one of the reasons why they are such innocent beings. The question “What happened to Mufasa?” is posed to Teddy by his owner in the video. When the black puppy looks at the TV, it causes him to feel depressed right away. Teddy has a sad expression on his face and looks to his owner for reassurance.

Teddy is still observing the scene of the fatal accident. The dog eventually gets up and walks over to look at the television. He balances himself on his hind legs and looks closely at the television, looking for some clue as to how he may assist Simba in waking up Mufasa. Even then, he cries out in a pathetic whimper. Our beating hearts just can’t take it. Teddy is simply too cute for words!
