Emmit the Bullmastiff will not stop talking until he can get out of bed. He looks big enough to just step onto it all by himself, so it’s funny that he insists on being lifted!
Ryan Cushman, his father, agrees and tells his big dog in this cute video that he can do it all by himself. After all, his sister might be able to accomplish it. Emmit, on the other hand, continues to protest, unable to comprehend why his sister is already on the bed and comfortable, while he is not. His younger sister looks at her older brother with skepticism, unsure why he’s making such a fuss.
Emmit appears to be pouting when he explains the situation to his father in great detail and with the cutest “sad face” expression. “My bully, who isn’t quite two and is stubborn and spoiled, wanted to lay down on the bed but was too lazy to jump up himself,” Ryan writes.
And Emmit’s protestations are effective, as he persuades his father to assist him! Emmit’s tail begins to wag excitedly the moment Ryan relents, and he’s making himself at home on the bed with the rest of the family in seconds! In the hilarious video below, Emmit requests to be lifted onto the bed.
Since it was first posted, the video of Emmit’s amusing demeanor has received over 3 million views. But, a few years later, Ryan sent out an update with some sad news: “Hello everyone who enjoyed the video. Emmit is only three years old and suffers from brain cancer. It was declared inoperable by the surgeon. He enjoys life and his family, but he will be euthanized in the coming weeks. Thank you for watching, and remember, Bulldogs are the best dog on the planet!”
