Determined Dog Doesn’t Give Up And Learns To Walk Like A Human After Losing His Leg

Posted on May 31, 2022 by TrueNews

In June 2015, Dexter, a small dog, was adopted, and his owners were pleased to have found the perfect partner for their home. Dexter was a happy and energetic puppy who quickly won the hearts of his family, who couldn’t imagine life without him.

Despite his resolve to live his best life, he nearly loses everything nine months after returning home in an accident. Dexter ran away from home one day, and his family and neighbors set out to track him down. They were unable to capture the puppy because he was too fast.

Dexter’s father, Tim, saw him in a nearby park and went to approach him, but Dexter ran and dashed across the road.  At the time, a truck was approaching, making it difficult for the driver of the vehicle to avoid the speeding dog. Tim’s only choice was to save Dexter, who was trapped beneath one of the front wheels.

Tim called his wife, Kentee Pasek, to let her know what had happened and that Dexter had suffered a minor injury to his front legs.  Kentee, who spoke with The Dodo, claims that  “Everything was considerably worse than I had feared when I got on the scene.” Because Dexter and his parents reside in the Highlands, they had to travel 45 minutes to get veterinarian treatment. Tim and Kentee weren’t sure if Dexter would survive the long journey, but his will to live won out, and he did.

The veterinarian raced to his rescue, and because of his experience, he was able to perform the necessary operations to get Dexter back on his feet.  “Dr. Franklin of the San Juan Veterinary Clinic saved Dexter’s life,” Kentee explained. The doctor praises Dexter’s determination to live.”

Although Dexter had survived the awful event, his recuperation would be long and arduous, and he would need a lot of love to properly recover.  Due to severe elbow injuries, Dexter lost one of his front legs and his other front limb was rendered unusable. The dog had to learn to walk again after spending almost a year in a cone.

Despite the challenges, Dexter remained the happy dog that his family had always known, and he was prepared to fight.  “He was pleasant, upbeat, and upbeat,” Kentee added. His demeanor could be contagious to all of us at times.  Dexter eventually mastered three-legged walking. Dexter, on the other hand, is a very active dog that enjoys going on adventures, so he realized he needed to walk faster.

To everyone’s surprise, the dog learned to walk standing on its two back legs, much like a person. While sunning in the yard one morning, Kentee was blown away by Dexter’s attitude. It’s unknown how she managed to do it.
