A birthday isn’t complete without a candle on top of the cake. How would you utilize your one wish every year, and what will you wish for? Or a new automobile or a trip to Malibu, perhaps a wish for world peace or unlimited wealth? We know what one man wished for since his desire came true almost as soon as the candles were extinguished.
A homeless man was filmed hosting a simple birthday celebration for his two dogs, singing them “Happy Birthday,” giving them hugs, and feeding them cake while sitting on the stairwell of a public park because he had nowhere else to go. But that was about to change.
A man traveling through a park in Bucaramanga, Colombia, one lovely evening noticed a homeless man hosting what appeared to be a birthday party for his beloved dogs. Choco was sitting on the stairwell with his pals Shaggy and Nena, almost as if basking in the late afternoon sun, but the party hats atop the pups’ heads suggested a different story.
The passerby decided to film the incident, and we’re glad he did because what happened next is touching. Choco petted each of the dozing pups before revealing a tiny cake with candles. He then began performing a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ to his two companions. It appeared like Shaggy’s birthday was approaching, and Choco was throwing him a small celebration.
Choco tenderly caresses and claps the pups in celebration when the two candles were lit during the song. The candles were quickly extinguished, and each dog was given a kiss on the little puppy’s cheeks. The man then took out a small plastic knife and began cutting the cake, which piqued the pups’ interest.
Choco, of course, cut the first pieces to give to his dogs, offering more from his plate to each of them, and it’s difficult not to be moved by the fact that the cake, candles, and party hats most likely cost the man a lot of money, but he still went to such lengths for his friends to have the celebration they deserved. Choco appeared to be brushing away a few tears.
The father then leaned in to hug the birthday boy as he finished eating his cake. After that, the other puppy got more kisses, while Shaggy did a stealthy sneak and started eating the rest of the cake. I’m not sure I wouldn’t do the same thing.
Following the completion of the video, the person filming contacted Choco to inquire about their lives and offer assistance. Choco had spent the previous many years on the streets after fleeing an abusive household, it was revealed. Despite the difficulties, he had always made sure that Shaggy and Nena were well taken care of.
Other animal enthusiasts congregated at the park where the celebrations took place, donating food and other supplies for Choco and his pups. For a little fun, they had the man pose for shots with their dogs, but that was only the beginning.
Nena’s 11th birthday was coming up in November, and Shaggy was celebrating his 4th birthday. He also talked about his ambitions to study music and run an animal rescue center. Choco has been selling t-shirts and donating a portion of the proceeds to animal abuse prevention.
Whatever he asked for on those candles appears to be coming true, as things are finally looking up for this man and his beloved dogs.
