The fact that it doesn’t matter how old you are, you can always learn something new is going to be demonstrated by a Golden Retriever by the name of Buddy. Buddy, who has been coming to the Lucky Puppy Daycare Centre on an almost annual basis for the past nine years, has now had his very first swim in the swimming pool there.

The Golden Retriever, who was nine years old at the time, required some encouragement from his caretaker Kristina in order to get started, but once he did, he was able to rapidly find his way in the water.
Buddy’s daycare says that despite his initial lack of self-assurance in the water, he has become a good swimmer and is now able to collect toys and swim laps around the pool. This is something that he was unable to do when he first started attending the daycare.
You may see Buddy’s very first effort at doggie paddling in the video that can be found below.
And as if all of that wasn’t impressive enough, the day after he turned nine years old, he also learned how to dive! On YouTube, you can hear one of the people who work at the daycare stating, “He started when I jumped in and he climbed in right next to me.” This came out of nowhere and really surprised me! As a direct result of this, I was unable to let go of that. Together, we devoted the entirety of the afternoon to work on it, and as a result, he is an excellent swimmer as well as a diver.
Way to go, Buddy! He illustrates that new skills may be taught to even the most experienced dogs at any point in their lives.
