The owner of the shelter was perplexed when they discovered their rescued dog hidden in her cage. When her 7-year-old son entered the room, however, a miracle occurred. Although this pit bull was rescued, she seemed uneasy in the shelter. Nala, a Pit Bull, was discovered wandering the streets alone and was promptly transferred to Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue in New Zealand.
Nala, on the other hand, spent hours after being placed in a cage lying down in the far corner of the cage, refusing to move despite being called. Of course, the staff was concerned that she wouldn’t eat or drink anything. Days passed and they were still unable to acquire Nala’s trust.

Abbey van der Plas, the shelter’s director, sat on the floor beside Nala’s cage for two days in an attempt to gain the dog’s trust. Nala, on the other hand, will not budge no matter what she does. The dog may be too afraid, especially if she is suddenly placed in a strange setting.
Nala would only answer with a concerned snarl no matter how Abbey tried to communicate with her. Abbey refused to give up on Nala, who continued to sulk. Something wonderful happened when she enlisted the support of her son.
Abbey may have recognised she couldn’t do it alone, so she enlisted the help of her 7-year-old son, Zack, to sit beside Nala’s cage. Then something unexpected happened. Although Abbey’s son had not yet taken a seat, you could see how Nala’s attention was drawn to him.
Nala stood up in a fraction of a second after the boy sat down on the floor. With a wagging tail, the canine stretched herself up and approached Abbey and Zack. They didn’t think it would take her son to get Nala to stand up. No one knew what transpired in this pooch’s history, but there could be a link between her behavior and what happened to her. We could only guess that Nala came from a household with children of Zack’s age. Otherwise, there’s no obvious reason why Nala sprung to her feet when she saw the kid.

They’ve been able to pet Nala without fear since that day. Abbey and Zack decided to adopt her and raise her until they could find her the right family. Fortunately, they were able to find Nala the perfect permanent home. Abbey said:
“Her new forever family had a baby boy the same age as my son, and they came to see us and we went to see them until she was as comfortable with them as she was with us.” They are adored by her. They’ve all lived happily ever after for the past four years.” It’s fantastic that she ended up with a beautiful family, including three children who will adore her forever.
