The following touching story shows a two years old little boy who finds a puppy with the same birth defect. Bentley Boyers’ father went to the animal shelter to adopt two chickens when he came across a dog with the same birth defect as his son and knew he had to take him home with him.
In fact, Mr. Boyers went to the shelter to adopt two chickens when he stumbled upon a gorgeous white and black puppy. The puppy stood out to him because he, like his two-year-old son, was born with a cleft palate.
Mr. Boyers quickly Facetimed his wife, who realised the adorable dog was destined to join their family. To meet the puppy, Mom and Bentley drove down to the shelter. Bentley and the dog clicked right away—it was fate!
Bentley’s mother, Ashley, stated, “He FaceTimed me.” “‘I suppose this one has a cleft lip,’ he says. ‘Get her,’ I said. ‘We require her.’ Bentley was born with a cleft lip and palate. His mother stated that the 2-year-old had a difficult start in life and that it was difficult to get him to eat. To assist him, they had to hold his lips together.
“We had to sit him up and feed him while holding his lip together so he could eat – it was a process,” mom explained. Despite his early problems, Bentley is a joyful little boy, but his parents want to teach him that he is not alone—that there are other people and animals that are just like him.
Bentley’s mother remarked, “Seeing him have something in common with a puppy means a lot because he can grow up and understand that he and his pet both have something in common.” Despite his birth abnormality, the puppy should live a normal life and be Bentley’s best friend for many years to come.
