As we all know, dogs are very intelligent animals with a keen sense of smell. They are capable of a lot of things, including saving human lives, because they have both of those qualities. Many stories have been reported about dogs saving the day, whether it’s alerting their family to a house fire, seeking help when their owner is injured, or finding lost individuals. The latter has been accomplished by a dog from Birmingham, England. After saving the life of a newborn baby boy who had been left in a British park at The Mounds, off Shannon Road in Kings Norton, he is now being hailed as a hero.
It happened as the dog, a Husky named Hel, and his owner, Terry Walsh, were out for a walk. Hel approached a bush and began softly poking a stack of blankets. It turned out to be a newborn baby who began sobbing after waking up from Hel’s body heat. Walsh was astounded by what Hel had discovered. The infant, wrapped in a blanket and left in the park was just a few hours old. They transported the infant to the nearest hospital, where he was tested if everything is okay.
Actually, the dog saved the baby’s life. Because he was discovered the day before St. George’s Day, they decided to call him George. He is doing well, and police in the West Midlands are now looking for his mother. “I’m contacting George’s mother.” Right now, you’re my main concern, and we need to make sure you’re okay. In a statement, Detective Inspector Neil Hunt stated, “I don’t know the circumstances surrounding George’s birth, but as a parent myself, I know precisely how daunting becoming a parent can be.”
“We’re here to assist and support you in any way we can. George is OK, and your health and well-being are our top priorities – rest assured, you are not in any danger.” Since then, police have released security footage of a lady spotted walking down the area where George was left before he was discovered. They suspect this is his mother, or that she is in possession of crucial information. This husky is a true hero.
